Terms of Service

Last updated: May 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Ironcode Fitness, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our service.

2. Description of Service

Ironcode Fitness is a personal training and nutrition app that generates a periodised workout program and a meal plan tailored to your goals, equipment, and preferences. Two AI coaches — Coach Taylor for training and Coach Kaifor nutrition — adapt the program and meal plan as you log results. The service also includes calculators (BMR, TDEE, protein, 1RM, etc.), recipes, and progress tracking. The service is provided "as is" and may be modified at any time.

3. User Accounts

To use Ironcode Fitness, you must:

  • Provide accurate information when creating your account.
  • Keep your sign-in email and any installed-app sessions secure.
  • Be at least 16 years old.
  • Not share your account with others.

Ironcode Fitness uses passwordless sign-in: we email you a single-use code or link. You are responsible for keeping that email account secure.

4. AI-Powered Features

Ironcode Fitness uses artificial intelligence to provide personalised services:

  • Coach Taylor (training): Generates personalised workout programs, picks weights for your next set, and provides in-workout guidance based on your profile and recent training.
  • Coach Kai (nutrition): Picks meals from a curated template library, logs food from natural-language descriptions, builds shopping lists, and gives dietary guidance based on your calorie and macro targets.
  • Exercise alternatives: Suggests substitute exercises based on your equipment and preferences.

Important Disclaimer: AI-generated content is for informational and educational purposes only. It is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, or personal training. Always consult qualified healthcare and fitness professionals before starting any exercise or nutrition program. Ironcode Fitness does not adjust workout programs based on injuries or physical conditions you report — see the Health and Safety Disclaimer below.

5. How Meal Plans and Macros Are Calculated

Your daily calorie and macronutrient targets are estimated from your stated height, weight, gender, age, activity level, and nutrition goal (cut, maintain, or bulk). We use the Mifflin–St Jeor equation for resting metabolic rate, multiplied by a standard activity factor, with goal-based calorie and protein adjustments.

Per-ingredient macronutrient values come from:

  • An internal curated reference table of common foods, restaurant items, and takeaway meals, derived from publicly-available nutritional sources.
  • USDA FoodData Central— the U.S. Department of Agriculture's public food database, used as a fallback when an item isn't in our curated table.

Calorie targets and macro values are estimates. Real-world energy needs vary based on factors we cannot account for (lean mass, NEAT, hormonal status, medical conditions, training history). Treat the numbers as a starting point and adjust based on your own results.

6. Subscriptions and Payments

By subscribing, you authorise us to charge your payment method automatically at the start of each billing period until you cancel. Subscriptions are processed by our third-party payment processor. The price and billing frequency are shown to you at checkout before you confirm payment.

  • Free trial: New subscribers get a 3-day free trial. The trial automatically converts to a paid subscription at the end of the trial period unless you cancel beforehand. We will email you a reminder at least 24 hours before the trial ends and converts to a paid subscription. You can cancel at any time during the trial without being charged.
  • Billing: Subscriptions are billed weekly in advance until you cancel.
  • Cancellation: You may cancel at any time from within the app or by contacting us. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period — you keep access until then. Because billing is weekly, no pro-rata refund is provided for the remainder of the current week. This does not affect your statutory rights (see Section 14).
  • Account deletion: If you delete your account, any active subscription is cancelled immediately and your data is removed (see Privacy Policy, Section 7).
  • Refunds: Refunds outside the cancellation/account-deletion process described above are not provided for partial billing periods. If you believe the service has not met the guarantees in the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993, contact us — those statutory rights apply regardless of this clause.
  • Price changes: We may change subscription prices from time to time. We will give you at least 14 days' notice by email and/or in-app notification before any price change takes effect. You may cancel without penalty at any time before the new price applies — if you do nothing, the new price applies from your next billing date.
  • Failed payments: If payment fails, we may suspend access until payment is resolved.

7. User Content

You retain ownership of any content you submit — including profile information, workout completions, food logs, comments, and the messages you send to the AI coaches. By using Ironcode Fitness, you grant us a licence to store and process this content for the purpose of operating the service (including sending the relevant parts to our AI provider so the coaches can respond).

You agree not to submit:

  • Content that infringes on others' rights.
  • Inappropriate, offensive, or illegal content.
  • Content that violates any applicable laws.

8. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the service for any illegal purpose.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems or other users' data.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the service.
  • Create multiple accounts to manipulate trials, pricing, or the service.
  • Abuse AI features by attempting to generate harmful, illegal, or inappropriate content, or by sending automated/excessive prompts to inflate our AI usage costs.
  • Use automated systems (scrapers, bots) to access the service without permission.
  • Share or resell your subscription access.
  • Reverse-engineer the AI coaches' prompts or attempt to extract our proprietary instructions.

9. Health and Safety Disclaimer

Ironcode Fitness provides fitness tracking tools, workout programs, and nutrition guidance for informational purposes. We are not medical professionals or registered dietitians.

  • Always consult with a healthcare provider before starting any exercise or nutrition program.
  • Stop exercising immediately if you feel pain, dizziness, or discomfort.
  • The calorie and macro calculations are estimates and may not be suitable for everyone.
  • AI-generated meal plans are general suggestions and do not account for allergies, medical conditions, or individual nutritional needs unless specifically disclosed.
  • You exercise and follow nutrition plans at your own risk and are responsible for your own health and safety.

Injuries and physical conditions

Ironcode Fitness does not modify your workout program based on injuries, pain, surgeries, or other physical conditions you may have. We are not qualified to provide rehabilitation programming or prescribe exercise around an injury, and we do not attempt to.

  • If you indicate during onboarding that you have an injury, you will be shown a waiver explaining this policy and asked to acknowledge it before continuing. We record only that you have acknowledged the waiver — we do not store the details of your injury on your profile, and we do not feed it into the AI coach.
  • Anything you type into a chat message will be persisted as part of the conversation history. If you mention an injury in chat, the message will be stored along with the rest of the conversation.
  • You are solely responsible for deciding which exercises are safe for you to perform. If you are unsure, consult a physiotherapist, doctor, or other qualified healthcare professional.
  • You may swap any exercise for an alternative at any time using the in-workout swap feature.
  • If any exercise causes pain or aggravates an existing condition, stop immediately and seek professional advice.

10. Expected Results

Fitness and nutrition results vary widely between individuals. Even when our programs and meal plans are followed in full, we make no guarantee of any specific outcome — fat loss, muscle gain, strength gain, performance improvement, or any other goal. Outcomes depend on factors outside our control, including your training history, genetics, sleep, stress, recovery, adherence, and pre-existing medical conditions.

Any results, before/after photos, or progress stories shown in our marketing or app represent what specific individuals achieved under their own circumstances. They are not a promise or prediction of results for any other user.

11. Intellectual Property

The Ironcode Fitness service, including its design, features, AI coach prompts and configurations, exercise catalogue, meal-template library, and content (excluding user content), is owned by Ironcode Fitness. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse-engineer our content, AI systems, or service without permission.

12. Termination

You may delete your account at any time from within the app. We may also suspend or terminate your account in either of the following circumstances:

  • Termination for breach: If you materially breach these terms (for example, the acceptable-use clauses in Section 8), we may suspend or terminate your account. In that case, your right to use the service ceases immediately and any active subscription is cancelled without a refund of the current billing period.
  • Termination by us for other reasons: If we discontinue the service, restructure it, or otherwise terminate your account for reasons not attributable to you, we will give you reasonable notice and refund any prepaid amount covering the period after termination on a pro-rata basis.
  • Termination by you: If you delete your account, your data is removed as described in our Privacy Policy. Cancellation of your subscription is described in Section 6.

13. Assumption of Risk and Limitation of Liability

You acknowledge that exercise and dietary changes carry inherent risks. By using Ironcode Fitness, you voluntarily assume all such risks, including the risk of injury, illness, aggravation of an existing condition, or in rare cases serious harm. These risks exist whether or not you are currently in good health.

Subject to Section 14 (Your Statutory Rights), and to the maximum extent permitted by law, Ironcode Fitness is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss arising from your use of the service, including but not limited to injuries from exercise, adverse health effects from following a meal plan, reliance on AI-generated content, or any other consequence of using our programs, meal plans, coaching, or content. This limitation does not apply to liability that cannot be excluded by law.

14. Your Statutory Rights

If you are a consumer in New Zealand, your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 and the Fair Trading Act 1986 apply to your use of the service and cannot be excluded by these terms. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes any right or remedy you have under those Acts that cannot lawfully be excluded.

The rest of these terms (including the cancellation, refund, and limitation of liability clauses) operates subject to those statutory rights. If a clause in these terms is inconsistent with a non-excludable right or guarantee under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or the Fair Trading Act 1986, the statutory right or guarantee prevails to the extent of the inconsistency.

15. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand. Disputes will be heard in the courts of New Zealand.

If you live outside New Zealand and your local consumer-protection law gives you mandatory rights or access to your local courts that cannot be contracted out of, this clause does not override those rights.

16. Complaints

If something goes wrong, please contact us first at info@ironcodefitness.com and tell us what happened — we'll do our best to resolve it quickly.

If we can't resolve a complaint to your satisfaction, NZ consumers can also raise the matter with the Disputes Tribunal (for small consumer claims) or with the Commerce Commission (for matters under the Fair Trading Act).

17. Severability

If any part of these terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, that part will be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, or removed if it cannot be modified. The rest of the terms will continue in force.

18. Entire Agreement

These terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any pricing or product information shown at checkout, are the entire agreement between you and Ironcode Fitness regarding your use of the service. They replace any earlier agreement or understanding.

19. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or in-app notification. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
